Thanks to Professor Lisa Shattuck, I had the opportunity to visit NOCCA (New Orleans Center for Creative Arts). Lisa teaches in the Media Arts department. I gave a short presentation of my work to students and stayed as guest in her class. http://www.nocca.com/

Yesterday I met Serbian-American poet, critic and translator Biljana D. Obradovic. She is Professor of English at Xavier University of Louisiana, New Orleans, where she lives with her husband John Gery and son Petar.

Working at site with amazing set designer Jeff Becker, for outdoor performance “Cry You One” in Lower St. Bernard Parish. LA
Yesterday I had the opportunity to see performance “Possum Kingdom” by Cripple Creek Theatre Company from New Orleans.
This production is part of a larger artistic collaboration with The Louisiana Bucket Brigade and the “Down By the River” project, which explores issues of environmental justice, the history of resistance movements, and plantation-to-plant patterns in Cancer Alley communities affected by the petro-chemical industries along the Mississippi River Road between New Orleans and Baton Rouge.
Inspired by the unfolding environmental ruination and societal crises in south Louisiana, the story takes place in a small community of swamp workers whose lives and livelihoods are uprooted when the whims of unseen “upriver” consumers and the degradation of their natural environs force them to sacrifice and discard their jobs, homes and memories. Possum Kingdom’s team mixes politics, physicality, original music, and simple machines to create an enchanting outdoor theater experience with a heavy dose of magic.

Halloween evening at Armstrong Park, New Orleans. We were listening concert of Rebirth Brass Band, Kermit Ruffins and Bonerama.
Unforgettable experience with the ensemble of the project CRY YOU ONE. I was working on set design construction and helped costume designers to create masks for the outdoor performance at St. Bernard Parish.

I spent Inspiring afternoon with Chen Gu, film maker and painter from New Orleans. It turns out that we have similar interests and approaches in our art research and practice. We both explore the concept of childhood and memory.
“We are surrounded with different objects. Some of them we use in our every day life, but all of us have some personal objects that are very important. We are keeping those objects because they hold some kind of memory for us. Objects remind us about our past, our families, relatives, friends, some very important situations, events … “
